Nate, a high school student in Michigan at the time, sent this letter to FCKH8.com, an activist organization for gay youth, who posted it on their Facebook page in March 2013. It was written to him by his dad.

Nate and his family did not want to share any other information besides the letter itself, said FCKH8 founder Luke Montgomery. But these few lines celebrate both Pride Month and Father’s Day in the most fitting way.

Nate,

I overheard your phone conversation with Mike last night about your plans to come out to me. The only thing I need you to plan is bring home OJ and bread after class.

We are out, like you now.

I’ve known you were gay since you were six—I’ve loved you since you were born

-Dad

PS: Your mother and I think you and Mike make a cute couple
